What is my favorite Bible Story and Why? There are so many stories that have touched me, but it is the Women at the Well that really touched me.

Jesus Talks With a Samaritan Woman

So why does this story touch me?

For so many years I was always busing doing things. When I got married, we only went to church occsionally which was ironic because we met in church! I was busy withgoing to school, working, buying a house and then infertility. Later, it was the kids that kept me busy. Though we did not go to church often, I still sang my kids hymns. When I did go to church, the messages did not hit home well. God seemed distant to me. I knew of Him, but did not have a relationship with Him.

In 1990 we moved to a new house in a new town. I knew it was time to go back to church and we visited several and end up going to a big church. I was listening to Christian radio and my supervisor Vera Parks was sharing the word with me. I know God was calling to me. But I was afraid in a way to make a committment and I did not feel worthy. In 1993 we found New Beginnings and you can read all about the rest in My Testimony.

So why this women? She was empty and thirsty like me. She knew of the God if her fathers, and I bet she thought about Him at times like I did. Seems like she did not have any friends because she went to the well in the heat of the day instead of the morning. Jesus asked her for water. (Jesus called to me) Men did not talk to women let alone a Samaratin and a women like her. He talked to her and she asked Him questions(As I did when God was calling me back.) He knew of her past and present. He told her about Himself and she said she knew of the coming Messiah.(I knew of Jesus, but I wanted more, I realized I wanted a realtionship with Jesus.) He revealed Himself to her and she left to share it with others.

Jesus gave her the cup of Living Water-himself and she took it and was filled. She was forvgiven and renewed. When I re-committed my life, I prayed to God that this would not be short lived. That was 17 years ago.

One of my favorite verses is this: "and I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry." 1 Timothy 1:12

2010, I served in church ministry from 1993-2007. My ministry now is my family.

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that
this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.
2 Corinthians 4:7
